Giant pocket skirt tutorial

My 3 year old is all pink, all dresses, all princesses
all of the time! The cute jeans and pants I saved from
my other two girls wouldn't fly with her. So, I'm on a
mission to change out her jeans with skirts.
She's my last girl and I figured why not!

Here's what you'll need to make a 3T-4T skirt :

1/2 yard of fabric*
1/4 yard coordinating fabric (pockets)
1 inch braided elastic
3/8 inch elastic
bias binding

(excuse half of the pictures...I started this project before
my kids woke up for school....ya oober early!)

So that's it! Have fun and stay tuned for more skirt-y fun!

  1. Hai Amanda, I love this skirt. Thank you for linking it up in our DIY craft party. Even though you've added this to a previous party, I've decided to feature you tomorrow! You can come pick up your badge here at 6 am: http://www.finecraftguild.com/spring-diy-home-decor-craft/

Tomorrow's party will be Easter/Spring themed, and we'd love to see you again with some new ideas/tutorial.

Actually, I really like your style, and I'd like to ask you if you are interested in writing a guest post sewing tutorial for us. Something 'unusual', ideally, something that upcycles something else.

  2. I loved this skirt! And I love the fact that you consider this serving your family (in weird quirky ways!), we´re very much alike that way. I started sewing by myself, recycling and trying to figure out patterns, crying, ripping tiny pieces of my hair out at times, but persistence can get you places, especially when your inspired and motivated by your family and your heart. Great job! Greetings from Mexico! Clau
