When I put the plate of waffles on the table, my 7 year old was very disturbed. She thought I was trying to feed our family burnt waffles. Personally I don't care for my waffles that crispy. They may look burnt, but they sure don't taste it. We topped ours with freshly whipped cream and bananas, but I was thinking that a peanut butter sauce drizzled on top would be tasty as well....maybe next time!
Chocolate Waffles
2 Cups all purpose flour
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 Cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cocoa
2 Cups milk2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup oil
Heat your waffle iron.
In a mixing bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients. Whisk in the milk, eggs, vanilla, and oil. Cook waffles in the preheated waffle iron......pretty easy huh?!
Ooooh, those look delicious! F's very favorite foods are pancakes and waffles, so this is definitely going on next week's menu. Thanks for the recipe, I can't wait to try it!
